Site Description

This one platformed station on the Up side opened in 1850. There was a high loading bank and siding, originally a private siding for the D&BJR engineer, Sir John MacNeill, on the Down side. The signal cabin was at the Dublin end of the station on the same side. Northbound trains had to run past the station and reverse back in. The crossover to enable them to do this was unusual in being located midway along the platform.
